What Planters Should Know About PlanterMatch

WHO RUNS PLANTERMATCH?

The Church Planting Initiative at Fuller Theological Seminary runs PlanterMatch. Fuller is the world’s largest multi-denominational seminary. We have students and alumni from over 110 denominations serving in more than 130 countries. We are passionate about church planting. PlanterMatch is one of the ways we co-labor with networks, coaches and the wider body of Christ in starting many new churches around the world.

Fuller also trains church planters through our publications, formal Masters and academic certificate programs, as well as our Professional Certificate program. Our programs are entirely online, allowing church planters to learn while remaining in their current ministry context. We also come alongside networks and denominations in developing their own training resources and leading their own learning cohorts. For more information regarding any of the above, please email churchplanting@fuller.edu.

IS IT FREE?

Yes, PlanterMatch is currently a free service because of our generous donors. Please consider contributing to keep this service free.

HOW DOES THE MATCHING PROCESS WORK?

Planters enter their information regarding geography, theology and methodology, and our software matches them with networks and coaches that have indicated they are willing to work with planters with those choices.

WHAT IF MY SEARCH DOESN’T RESULT IN ANY MATCHES?

Your criteria (such as geography) may be too narrow to find an organization that fits. Try another search using a broader criteria with the given filters.

WHAT IF I’M ALREADY PART OF A DENOMINATION?

Church planting networks are often very collaborative. Many church planters continue to work under their denomination while receiving support and training with other networks.

WILL THE CHURCH PLANTING NETWORKS OR COACHES CONTACT ME?

Yes, but only if you clicked the pink button on your search results labeled "Notify."

If you did not click the button, you did not notify your matches of your interest. In this case, planters must reach out to their matched networks and coaches via their website or email.

HOW MANY NETWORKS AND COACHES ARE IN THE DIRECTORY?

Currently, there are over 120 networks and coaches listed in the directory with more being added all the time.

WHERE DOES FULLER STAND THEOLOGICALLY?

You can find Fuller’s entire statement of faith here. Specifically, our statement of faith affirms women in ministry at all levels as well as traditional marriage as a covenant union between one man and one woman. However, we also respect that Christians from different traditions hold divergent convictions about a variety of issues. The purpose of PlanterMatch is not to endorse or adjudicate any of these positions. Instead, we are called to convene and connect planters with coaches and networks who have shared commitments and priorities.
